Rio Claro Farmers Snatches One from Paulinia Robots to Grab 6th Place
Rio Claro Farmers was clutch when the lights came on with 51.56 points on Monday Night Football (43% of their total score) to steal the win from Paulinia Robots 120.66 to 106.26. The late heroics were especially impressive, as they were originally projected to put up just 28.90 points on Monday night. Rio Claro Farmers was led by Justin Herbert (264 Pas Yds, 4 TD). The Los Angeles Chargers QB passed for four touchdowns and provided 27.36 points to the cause. Rio Claro Farmers (3-2, 594.42 points) climbs into sixth place, while Paulinia Robots (3-2, 631.14 points) drops to seventh place.
There was one starter on Paulinia Robots that let some chances slip through his hands. Even though Terry McLaurin saw a total of seven targets, he reeled in just three catches. One spot where Paulinia Robots wishes they could get a re-do is wide receiver. CeeDee Lamb could have started in place of Terry McLaurin, and that point difference would’ve altered the outcome.
With 19 touches this week for David Johnson, it means that his touches have now increased in three consecutive games.
Next week, Rio Claro Farmers plays Limeira Guara Wolf (2-3, 554.82), while Paulinia Robots goes up against London Knights (2-3, 587.82).
Goncalves Miners Picks Up Win Against Sorocaba Wild Mules, Knocking Them from 1st Place
A primetime rally on both Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football wasn’t enough for Sorocaba Wild Mules. They had 29.78 points on SNF and 24.90 on MNF (combining to be 54% of their total score), but Goncalves Miners still earned the 135.80 to 102.08 victory. Goncalves Miners was led by Adam Thielen (80 Rec Yds, 2 TD). The Minnesota WR scored two touchdowns and contributed all 29.30 of the team’s SNF points to the cause. To make matters worse, Sorocaba Wild Mules got zero points from Mo Alie-Cox. Goncalves Miners (3-2, 639.06 points) climbs into fourth place, while Sorocaba Wild Mules (3-2, 526.36 points) drops to third place.
J.D. McKissic and Brian Hill really deserved to get the ball more, as they logged an impressive 103 total yards between them on just 15 combined touches for Goncalves Miners.
In Week 6, Goncalves Miners takes on Amparo Bikers (1-4, 602.26), while Sorocaba Wild Mules battles Brotas Alligators (2-3, 554.12).
Indaiatuba Blues Gets Victory over Indaiatuba Riders, Grabs 5th Place
Indaiatuba Blues put up the highest point total this season, taking down Indaiatuba Riders 158.30 to 111.98. This win was revenge for a loss to Indaiatuba Riders in their last meeting a season ago. Deshaun Watson led Indaiatuba Riders with 24.86 points (359 Pas Yds, 25 Rsh Yds, 3 TD/2 Int) while Derrick Henry racked up 19.30 (57 Rsh Yds, 2 TD). Indaiatuba Blues (3-2, 618.04 points) climbs into fifth place and Indaiatuba Riders (1-4, 582.76 points) sinks into last place.
Kenyan Drake had plenty of chances for Indaiatuba Blues, but he logged just 62 total yards on 19 touches.
Indaiatuba Blues matches up against Sorocaba Steelers (3-2, 536.74) in Week 6. Indaiatuba Riders gets Campinas Giants (3-2, 616.84), who sits in first place.
Limeira Guara Wolf Gets Late Win over Amparo Bikers to Move into 11th Place
Limeira Guara Wolf (2-3, 554.82 points) put up the highest score they’ve earned all season to get the win over Amparo Bikers (1-4, 602.26 points) 128.42 to 120.50 in a back-and-forth matchup. Limeira Guara Wolf took command of the matchup first with a 16.32 to 15.60 lead heading into Sunday. They surrendered that lead after the late Sunday games and were losing 120.50 to 113.02. However, by the conclusion of the Vikings/Seahawks game on Sunday night Limeira Guara Wolf had the lead for good with the help of 8.40 points from Tyler Lockett.
Chase Edmonds really deserved more touches for Limeira Guara Wolf, as he put up a whopping 92 total yards on just eight touches.
Next week, Limeira Guara Wolf faces Rio Claro Farmers (3-2, 594.42). Amparo Bikers squares off against Goncalves Miners (3-2, 639.06), who has averaged a league-leading 127.81 points this season.
Sorocaba Steelers Tops London Knights, Captures Career Series Lead 6-2
Mike Davis racked up 29.90 points and Josh Jacobs added another 22.50 points with two touchdowns as Sorocaba Steelers beat London Knights 113.46 to 100.12. Sorocaba Steelers scored 15.4% more than projected in this matchup and has beaten expectations three weeks in a row. Sorocaba Steelers has been red-hot in this matchup as of late, winning four straight against London Knights. The gap could have been wider as Sorocaba Steelers had a starter score zero points (Scott Miller). Sorocaba Steelers (3-2, 536.74 points) falls to ninth place and London Knights (2-3, 587.82 points) drops to 10th place.
There was one glaring player on Sorocaba Steelers that left points out on the field. Even though Deebo Samuel saw a total of eight targets, he only reeled in two catches.
Sorocaba Steelers takes on Indaiatuba Blues (3-2, 618.04) next week, while London Knights matches up with Paulinia Robots (3-2, 631.14).
Campinas Giants Comes Back on Barao Butchers, Moves Into 1st
Campinas Giants was clutch when the lights came on with 56.30 points on Monday Night Football (48% of their total score) to seal the comeback against Barao Butchers 118.20 to 89.54. Campinas Giants was led by DeAndre Hopkins this week, who added 25.10 points (131 Rec Yds, 1 TD). Drew Brees also helped the cause with 21.10 points on 325 passing yards (325 Pas Yds, 1 Pas TD/1 Int, 1 Rsh TD). Campinas Giants (3-2, 616.84 points) climbs into first place, while Barao Butchers (3-2, 631.64 points) stays in second place.
It wasn’t all bad news for Barao Butchers, as they did put together a team of real-life winners. Every starter except Raheem Mostert played for an NFL team that won in Week 5.
Next week, Campinas Giants will meet Indaiatuba Riders (1-4, 582.76), the last-place team in the league. Barao Butchers takes on Limeira Dead Rabbits (3-2, 582.06).
Limeira Dead Rabbits Tops Brotas Alligators to Grab 8th Place
Limeira Dead Rabbits took down Brotas Alligators, who had a rough outing this week, 123.30 to 90.50. Limeira Dead Rabbits has beaten expectations every week this season, putting up 27.6% more points than their 96.64 projected in this matchup. Brotas Alligators was led by Kyler Murray with 26.30 points (380 Pas Yds, 31 Rsh Yds, 1 Pas TD/1 Int, 1 Rsh TD) and A.J. Brown, who scored 21.20 (82 Rec Yds, 1 TD). Limeira Dead Rabbits started one player with zero points while Brotas Alligators served up two goose eggs, meaning both sides missed scoring opportunities. Limeira Dead Rabbits (3-2, 582.06 points) climbs into eighth place and Brotas Alligators (2-3, 554.12 points) drops to 12th place.
Joe Mixon and Joshua Kelley had plenty of chances for Brotas Alligators, but they logged just 132 total yards on 42 combined touches between them.
Limeira Dead Rabbits will have to step up their game in Week 6 when they go up against Barao Butchers (3-2, 631.64), who averages a solid 126.33 points per game. Brotas Alligators takes on Sorocaba Wild Mules (3-2, 526.36).
